Would it be beneficial to create free blogs solely to use them to link to your other sites to build link popularity? Or, would this be a waste of time?

Mostly a waste of time today
Free blog links have low trust and pass little real authority unless they gain real traffic and content.
Better invest time in a few high-quality, relevant links instead.

Making free blogs just for backlinks could seem like a quick gain, but it doesn't usually provide any long-term value. Instead, focus on making real, helpful content on sites you can keep up with and that really serve your viewers. It is generally safer and longer-lasting to get quality links from relevant material than to put up blogs solely to get links.

Free blog networks worked before, but now search engines can easily detect artificial link setups. If the blogs exist only to place links and have no real value, they pass little authority and may even harm your site. It is better to focus on quality content and genuine backlinks.

making free blogs just for links is mostly useless today. google ignores or even penalizes spammy link farms. only do it if the blog has real, valuable content; otherwise, focus on genuine outreach or quality guest posts.
