What's up BHWers, do you use comments on your blog posts?

Do comments add any benefits to SEO?

I use them on some of my projects and on others they are disabled. It's true hell to moderate them as they get spammed with backlinks and gibberish phrases. In addition, the comments section does not look good on most of the designs.

I'm not sure about benefits but I can assure you that it's great for social proof marketing!

Say you're writing about a product - the comments are like vouches for the products you're talking about.

There are several plugins, by the way, to deal with comment spams. Tons of spam and unrelated comments certainly won't help.

Exactly. Obviously genuine comments and reviews are social proof and that's the value. If you're selling something on-site, then you probably need that social proof.

Comment section is good to make your website more real....and i think is look good and does't mesh the designing part of website...

I am not sure comments comments could add any benefits to SEO, but If you're selling something on-site i suggest you to use Comment section as its like vouches for your products you're talking about, you probably need that for social proof.

The blog comments do help SEO. You will select high profile blogs in your industry and leave best comments, People definitely to click on your site over.

Yes, I use comments in the blog and most of the webmasters use it. It helps in SEO it send the signal to search engine that this content is amazing that's why people loved it.

Comments are a great feature and I would say that almost everyone should use them/have them enabled.
Plain and simple, it’s genuine, organic engagement, at least when it’s not spam. Discussion and debate, even when it’s not as wholesome or positive as you may want it to be, will sear the image of your site into the back of people’s minds. You want to stick out and be memorable. Comments will always help you with that.
Sure, moderation can be a pain, but so can the entire process of running a website. Annoyance pretty much comes with the territory.
As for direct SEO benefits of comments, they are probably minor at best. But again, you will almost certainly want to ride the comment function out for all it’s worth.

The comment section is good. Because that's the place where your readers get engaged and I personally feel it brings more value to your content.

Can't ignore about spam comments. I'm sure there so many plugins available to stop spam bots. Since the commenting is worth for your blog, then I suggest you try a plugin to block spamming.
