Blog Post vs. Page Post ?

I post all my articles on Wordpress as blog posts. It's when you go to "Posts" section in the admin panel.

However, I've read a couple guides (one of which was on silo structure) and there was recommended to publish all the posts as a separate page.

What is better for ranking?

P.S. I am speaking about MNS websites. I almost never update them. Maybe once per few months. They are ranking in top10, but still the positions could be better.

i think as a page is better but you will probably get a probleme with your theme if you publish a lot it will not be showing like a news feed
 
From SEO point of view, it doesn't matter. They are treated the same way by Google. The only difference is structure. If you have a small niche site, then it does not really matter which one you use. Ideally though, if you use posts, try to noindex "tag" pages and also "category" pages, unless you are planning to add content to them.

Also, with smaller sites like yours, you really don't have to Silo anything. Silo is only necessary if you have multiple niches on a one huge site, which you do not, so really don't worry about that.

nope. it's not.
just compare the on page fuckup a POST does vs a PAGE.
> tags, dates , author and shit.
you dont have nothing with that with a page.
so for newbs, a page is better.
and ditch that "auto" category crap and create them with a page manually.

Don't make me get pissed today again. :)

It's the same. The fact that it creates category pages, tags etc (which it may not even create if you do not use any), is irrelevant and was mentioned in my post. End of story.

I use posts and I have not noindex anything and I am ranking well with them. So yes you're right, I dont believe it matters.
 
Posts are way better then pages, they have more value when ranking them
Google algo, really love all that follow up thing with the blog thing integrated with the social networks,
Google loves social interaction overall, a blog posts has more features that stands this standard then a simple page,
 
It all depends, and G doesn't automatically know the difference between a post and a page, it will depend on how your site is structured.

Some of my highest trafficked URLs on my Wordpress sites are posts. But my most authoritative and relevant content is on pages.

It depends on the context and how you're silo'ing those URLs (URL structure).

If it is just a random categorized article/blog... I'd say go with a post.

If you're trying to build expertise, trust, and authority for the long term... go with a page.
