Blog plus filehosting = success?

I am not sure where this fits, but it is about blogs (per se).... if not please move it to a more appropiate thread.

I have spent a week now checking out the pro's here and around the web. One thing they agree on -
Blog(er/spot?) + filehosts (filefactory, fileserve, depositfiles etc...) are NOT successful way to go.
If this is touted true, can someone explain how a site, for example:

wendysfullgames.blogspot

Is able to thrive for many many years, with thousands of files (there are 2 others that do the same, however with AAA games)? When many here -especially BHW push offshore is the way to go.
I've been on her(?) forums - thousand of users per day, and I dont think many know what they are downloading. They (staff) are VERY active in the forum at all times, and any mention of the word pirating or related, is quickly deleted, and sometimes user is perma banned.

But they churn out 2-3 files per day, EVERYDAY with multiple mirrors. What is her secret? I am quite sure it is not for free she does this - the affiliates for three of the hosts she uses is right there on the blog.

How are sure blogspot won't work these hosts? can u be bit more specific ? i haven't faced any issues as of yet!
