Blog on a subdomain or a different domain?

i would like your insights and thoughts on creating a new company blog.

From a seo perspective it is better to have a subdomain like blog.company.com or setup a completely new domain?

Subdomain is good too but domain.com/blog is better option. New domain is not a good option at all.

Sumbdomain. Unless you're trying to get an entirely different source of traffic between your company website and your blog.

Subdomains make the users to efficiently surf your website and get the information they are searching for. It is better to put your blog in a subdomain as it will provide your visitors with a streamlined path to navigate through website meaning more time spent by them with a satisfactory experience.
It also keeps the hierarchy of your site in order and easy to navigate.
