There are so many, here are few:
You should check that the PBN sites consists of different domains and are made up of expired domains. Expired domains give trust in the eyes of google. Also, check the expired domain does not have any fake profile. Consider the metrics DA and PA (20+), TF and CF (10+) of each domain. Most importantly, you need to check the IP addresses, especially C-block. The IP addresses are on different C blocks is good for PBN. So, there may be no chance to get penalized. Unique and quality content is important.

To make it simple, consider the following
-> Make sure it doesn't have any big footprints - footprints are common in PBN (unless its well built)
-> Different IPs, different themes are important
-> It should look like it doesnt have even single similarities between any two blogs in the PBN
-> Check whether same link sets used in same sets of blogs - that could be a big footprint
-> Concentrate more on back link profiles of each domain rather than just checking DA/PA things.
-> Domains with chinese back links will never going to help you - In fact, it makes things worse.
-> Last but not the least, make sure content used in the PBN are unique.

This just about sums it up.
Nothing worse than seeing 5 sites all using Wordpress and very similar themes, plugins and layouts, before even digging further.
and seein the sme "contact 7 form" everyhwere....
+ check DNS and MX records for the PBN.
