Blog Network Link Velocity?

I have a site that has been in the google index for approximately 4 years and has a Pagerank of 2. When buying homepage contextual links on a bunch of PR 2-6 domains should I worry about how much link velocity I am receiving( I am rotating 2 anchor text keywords)? My only other experience is a 3 month old domain that got 25 PR 2 contextual homepage blog posts with one anchor keyword without drip feeding and got sandboxed. Does anyone have a suggested amount of links to drip feed per day? Thanks for all the help!

Any decent homepage backlinks provider would drip the links out anyway. Four links aday is very safe.
