Blog is up, what now?

Greetings. This is another beginners-thread.
I am running a wordpress autoblog on my own domain, and my question is now that its up and running, what might I do now? How do I get spiders to crawl my blog? Since I'm running a blog and not a conventional webpage how do I add meta tags etc? Thanks in advance.

Basically use a plugin like All-in-one SEO to add things like meta description, tags, etc. How to get bots crawling? Put up good quality content, keyword optimize it, ping it, social bookmark it and build links.
 
1.) Use wordpress plugins to add meta tags to your blog.
2.) Put up some blog posts with quality content and submit it to social bookmarking sites like Digg, Reddit, StumbleUpon, Delicious...

Your blog will be crawled in no time :)
 
Thank you guys, have done some backlinking already so that is underway.
I would show you URL but im running the adsense program and I dont want them to cancel my participation because its an autoblog.
 
I wouldn't suggest showing anybody your URL, people that try to get your URL just want to steal your niche most of the time. Just keep building backlinks, invest in a backlinking service if you have the money, or just do it yourself (fourm posting, article marketing, blog commenting, etc). It will definitely seem tedious at first, but it will pay of in the end.

thats good advice right there ^^^^^^
 
Select Writing from the Settings section of your WP-Admin page. Down at the bottom of that page there is a place to paste all of the sites you want to ping every time you make a post.

I've attached my list. I'm sure there are a lot more sites to ping, but this list works for me.

As these folks are saying, now you've got to get traffic to it. You can do this an any number of ways. Traditional SEO is going to take a while, so be patient.
 
use seo all in one plugin, seo smart links, seo commments and add some meta to ur header.pho ... that's it... but there is enduring list of seo plugin, choose wisely...
 
Do some decent link building on other blogs and don't forget to submit your rss feed to all kinds of rss sites.**

I use this ping list, All-in-One SEO, submit my sitemap, submit my RSS feeds and my sites get crawled and indexed without any problems.
