Hi all

I was in SEO a few years ago but wasn't very good lol. However I have been completely out of it for several years now. A few questions for someone's ecommerce store (not profitable) I am helping out with. I have almost finalized 15-20 keywords she should be targeting. She is no where near the 1st page of G despite the fact top spots are occupied by very low quality websites. Its understandable since her store targets very low profit products for a specific demographic in UK.

My questions are:

1) I am going to ask her to start writing a blog incorporating the keywords I have provided her. Should the blog be on a same domain or separate domain? Also should the blog be written more from personal perspective or the wikipedia style (factual narrative)? Should she write 15-20 articles (this is my suggestion) or should she simply carry on writing?

2) How long should the article length be...in my days it used to be 450-500 words...I am reading that nowadays some are advocating even 2K words articles!?

3) Her product pages are simple, main keyword in the title...very short description with very high quality couple of pics...Any suggestions for this as well?

4) Any general suggestions for a small low profit online shop

Thank you all :)

Check your competitors who are ranking higher. Paste their content to Word or something and count the words, etc. That should answer most your questions.

Her competitors are extremely low quality! :) There is nothing I could learn from them...I have asked her to join BHW too...but my questions are from what I remember when I used to do a bit of SEO.

can brand about their product in a brief description and can write article about latest trend and current feelings of a customers
