Hey there,

I decided to do website SEO on my own. On page and off page.

This is the article I'm following, and I'm wondering are blog comments worth anything at all?

Will be buying some PBN's eventually since I can't do that on my own, will create web 2.0's my self, some quality backlinks as well.

I understand that it's better to have 30 quality backlinks than 10k shitty ones. Are blog comments counting as shitty ones or they can do something regarding my website ranking?

Well, I have a blog and I tried to comment other blogs for a long time, but didn't see any results :C

Blog comments are good for building links it acts as diversity. But make sure the site you do comment, are relevant to your niche and have metrics higher or equivalent to your blog etc., also check with their spam score.

I have found that blog comments are not carrying as much weight as they used to, the effort to reward ratio is not worth it in my opinion!

I found better results from sponsored posts on topically relevant blogs.

10 years ago, blog comments used to carry tremendous weight - SB alone could rank anything on the SE within a day. But as the amount of spam gets pumped up, the blog comment link value has been devalued so much that it's worthless at the moment.
But these are not entirely 100% worthless. Blog comments from highly interactive sites - sites that have very high user engagement/participation/valuable comments from other visitors, apparently, if you get a link from those sites at the comment section, these links would be a good addition instead.
Since such links could be rare in most circumstances, finding one and getting one would be quite difficult, and hence that is why they do contribute to your site once you get one.

Well, I suppose, blog comments aren't so useful as it was before. I tried to do it, but for me it seems useless. I prefer guest posting.

Blog comments used to be a very effective backlinking technique. But it's not the same anymore. It's still good to use them once in a while and comment on relevant niches to diversify your backlink profile. Other than that, you need to use them with caution and never overdo them.

Yap they do work.
One my parasite page is ranking on page 1 for a low comp keywords.

As for me, any sense to make blog comments except the opportunity to get some referral traffic.

Blog comments are good for Branding and Brand recognition. Also, link and anchor text diversity.

I suggest you use the name of the persona associated with the website. (present on the About page for example)

It's even better when you create persona on G+ and link to your website.

Quality of the blog comment is determined by these factors:
- is it live (duh)
- is the link follow
- is the comment section craw-able (some comment scripts are difficult to understand for engines)
- how many other comments are there
- overall OBL of the page

I try to build 5-10+ ******** (pre-filtered; of course all automated) blog comment links per each tier 2 link for indexing purposes and some initial link juice and it makes a difference in the rankings, however the cheap ScrapeBox nofollow blasts from the past do almost nothing today.

If we are talking about tier 1 blog comment links, they have their role for diversity and i would highly recommend that you include some in your SEO strategy.

It's a mess.

I thought those were almost useless until I found out that my competitor has most if links as blog comments... I was fucking shocked to see what he is ranking with. Try it out with a few, see how it goes. I know that I'm gonna use them again now.

I must admit, blog comments are nearer the bottom of my list in terms of quality backlinks, however, you can still use them as part of your link building strategy - just make sure you look for low OBL pages and sites that are well targeted to your niche. That way you are still getting some decent quality links. And also, its another link type to give you some diversity.

Blog comments can sometimes turn out to be useful when it is in your niche.

I always believe that quality over quantity so make sure you have quality backlinks rather than huge cheap number of backlinks.

Right, it should be in your niche.

Where can I buy backlinks?
You can try fiverr, upwork.
