Blog Commenting (Whitehat) - still worth it?

Clearly high PR blog comments do carry some weight and still provide traction with Google although I wouldn’t like to completely rely on them to get me to the number 1 position. You should definitely be using them to support and diversify your existing link building campaigns.

Yes blog commenting still works but it should on niche relevant sites. And the metrics of that site should be good to get proper link juice.

Depends on the niche. For many niches, such as local ones for example, it would be very difficult to find niche-relevant do follow blog comments (or even nofollow ones that could bring in traffic).

If you can find strong page for commenting with low OBL, it's worth. If you can find one with related niche, it's better. Problem with commenting is mostly high OBL.

Definitely, blog commenting is still worth and good for SEO. For that, you should outreach the high-authority blogs and find the right post. Then, post your informative comment with links.

Yes indeed blog commenting still works but it should on niche relevant sites, so if your niche is shoes you should look for fashion pages, not technology if you get my drift.
Check the OBL too, there's low OBL and there's low OBL. Some sellers consider under 50 to be low, others consider under 15.

This might be a newb question but when commenting,

Should I leave a link only were it says website (optional for leaving a comment) or also leave a link in the comment itself (ex. hey guys i saw an article explaining this here "link"?

TIA

Yes,It is worth to comment on niche site.Comments should be informative and useful to readers.By this way you can real traffic and increase your credibility.

i'm a fan and i only leave comments on related posts and popular blog sites. i'm a happy camper if i have 5 live links in a month (i don't do this full time). one link i dropped 3 years ago is still sending me quality traffic.

Blog commenting in my niche has been working really well.

Does it make sense that someone will go to this blog and reply an informative comment with your link in it?
Ofcourse it does, so do it.

Does it make sense that someone will go to 100 blogs and reply an informative comment with your link in it, in 1 day?
Ofcourse it doesn't, so don't do it.

The whole point of blackhat SEO is to make it look natural as you can.

So for any type of link you are asking yourself if you should use, just ask yourself if it can happen naturally?
