Blog commenting question?

Hey guys, Im starting to SEO my first real site.

Atm Im trying to get backlinks via blog commenting.

But about 2/3 of the blogs I try to comment on don't have a box for your URL.

For example if I wish to comment on a blogspot blog, there is only a comment box and nothing else.


My question is, how do you get around this? Do you just not comment? Or do you just go "blah blah great article please visit my site URL HERE"?

Buddy, i recomend you to search the forum for blog lists. If urls are disabled u cant get around

just use the blog like wordpress to do comment link,you can search "Powered by WordPress" on google to find it.

Sometimes there is an option like "name url" in a drop-down menu of the 'Identity' choices, sometimes not. Having 'Open ID' selected for example, would not have a field for a URL.

In blogpspot there is an option "You can use some html tags such as <i>, <a> with anchor tage<a> you can direct link to your website, but blogsopt and wordpress give no follow links and these links does not give you serp on the search engine, so please try to find do follow blogs and get the resutls.

Blogspot and wordpress are useless for links in 95% of cases, because they are heavily moderated, and use the nofollow tag. The nofollow tag will reduce the value of your links to zero in the eyes of Google.

You need to get smart with your linkbuilding. Follow the trails of other people who know what they're doing - get out there, find a good lead, and you'll be amazed at what you find.

Use backlinkwatch.com to scan the backlink profile of other websites. I honestly can't believe that people are still splashing about with blogger and wordpress comments with the wealth of information and techniques available on this forum. Best of luck to you.

I also think blog commenting isn't worth the trouble, at least when doing it manually as I did, but I'd say that statement is not true. I understand they're supposedly de-valued (or whatever), but to 0, I doubt.

Another bad part about blog commenting, if a site owner marks your comment as spam, you're screwed, as your comments will most likely never make it to post from then on, if you're using the same site url with your comment, with any blog that uses askimet(sp?).

After having tried to argue the point against nofollow working so many times in the past, I'll just let it go this time and let you find out how "useful" it is.

As for blog commenting not being worth the time, you hold this opinion only because you don't know how to find easily spammable, high value blogs. From the work I've been doing just today on blog commenting I got 2 x PR7, 5 x PR6 and 15 x PR5 links to my websites. Find the hidden tracks and your opinion of blog commenting will begin to change.

It's sort of reassuring to find that many people on this forum don't really know about the wealth of non-moderated high PR blogs out there, ripe for the plucking. Forget about sneaking past moderators and search for the good stuff.

I used to really struggle finding backlinks - I would stick to Wordpress and the like and moderation was a real pain.

Finally I took note of what Micallef has said many times, 'don't bother with Wordpress or Blogger'.

I take two approaches to my blog commenting; manual and automated.

I manually post links to my new sites - from high PR auto-approved blog. Pretty easy to find all in all.

I automatically backlink (with ScrapeBox) to my aged domains, in these cases I don't worry too much about PR and simply go for the auto-approved blogs. I have posted to about 600 (all found today) auto-approved blogs just today for one of my aged sites.

As keeps being said again and again, follow the spammers who know what they are doing!
