I have seen that many people complain about comment posting but as Matt cutts said it is all about quality not quantity (lol).
Automated comment postings are bad and don't do a good job for the follow reasons:
If you remove the pages with nofollow tags, the pages with javascript that extend the comment area, the pages with a huge number of URLs, the pages with links to other comment pages with no pageranks, pages with pagerank N/A, you may end with NO pages that pass google juice to your website and that's a total waste of time.
In fact, i think it is better to spot an article with few article first, check if there are nofollow tags with a nofollow extension in your browser, If there are lots of other comments with URL, it is not worth it. Pure HTML is the best for comment.
Automated comment postings are bad and don't do a good job for the follow reasons:
- They post to nofollow websites
- They post to pages where there are already a big number of URL from other black hats
- they post to pages where the comment is brushed away quickly when new ones come in
- They post to pages where there are javascript codes to extend the page which googlebot doesn't see at all.
- They post to pages where Comments are filtered against adult related words.
