Blog comment for building backlinks?

Blog Commenting to build backlinks still works, and it helps to get visitors to your blog or website and most importantly to create a bonding with your fellow bloggers.

Yes. In spite of what (most) people think, blog commenting still works today. However, quality always wins over quantity when it comes to blog commenting (or link building in general). In other words, you should leave comments on blogs that are relevant to your niche and add value to the readers. You won't succeed by spamming other blogs with hundreds of comments.
 
Yes, it works, but only those without spam. Without nofollow and with DA from 40. Niche websites are better.

But then I had a chance to leave 2-3 genuine replies in few niche blogs and the blog owners appreciated my comments because I had written some really valuable insight about their posts. They approved my comments with a backlinks to my website.

Couple of weeks later I found that those backlinks were at the top in my backlink profile since they were from a very high DA blogs. They were no-follow links but as we all know the backlink profile has to be a good mixture of do-follow and no-follow backlinks, I believe these backlinks still hold some value.

As a conclusion I will support the idea of building handful of blog comments provided they are from high DA sites and you aer not leaving any spammy comment there.

yes, but before commenting on the blogs, you should check the domains most links are spammy.
 
It is true that blog commenting is one of the simplest ways to boost your links and to build backlinks to your website.
