Blog comment backlinks still work a bit, but mainly for indexing and getting a natural link mix. They won’t move rankings on their own in 2025–2026. For real results, you still need stronger links like niche edits, guest posts, or authority mentions.

Blog commenting has long been ineffective for SEO. It's very easy to be flagged as spam and can harm your overall SEO campaign's effectiveness. While it can still be beneficial if done correctly, it should be used sparingly.

Yes I think it's a good idea to build links in blog comments for multiples reasons:
- Sometimes thoses links are do follow, so you get the juice of the page
- Even if 90% are nofollow, it help creates a natural and balance backlinks profile
- Finally, it can possibly help you get cited by AI

Yes, blog commenting still works in 2025 for driving referral traffic and building relationships, but it offers minimal SEO value. Focus on relevance, genuine insights, and engaging high-authority niche blogs. But - Sometimes it would ZERO value - due to the irrelevant backlinks.

you’re right most of them are no-follow, but a few platforms and niche blogs still offer do-follow links if you filter properly, I’ve noticed that mixing both types do-follow+no-follow creates a more natural backlink profile, the key is commenting on active blogs with decent traffic and real engagement rather than automated ones.
