Blocking low DA links from Google index

Will removing low DA links from Google index improve my ranking?

I've recently submitted list of back links I don't want to point to my domain, into my search console.

I've been told that this can also be harmful. Is that true that even some old DA1 back links improve Google ranking?

Every domain with a lot of links has links from both high and low DA/DR websites. It's natural. So, removing them won't have a big impact in my opinion unless they are heavily spammed.

"Will removing low DA links from Google index improve my ranking?" - how are you going to do that? If you can, you can delete them but please don't tell me you're going to remove them with google disavow tool.
I get crappy links naturally, just like any other ranking website but... I'm not going to lose my sleep over it.
