Been reading about blocking ip's with php and mysql but would like to know if there is a script out there for blocking an IP after a certain number of visits.

    Anything prehashed?

    Hi clopper,

I couldn't find anything specific - the ideal solution would be to create your own MySQL database, create a table that stores IPs and Login attempts and then check it with a PHP script.
I assume you've already researched all that, and probably wanted a simpler solution.

I found this script on CodeCanyon:
    Code:
    http://codecanyon.net/item/ip-blocker/127644

It's an IP blocker script that stores each IP into a >text< file, and then references this file and blocks the IPs accordingly.
I was just thinking, its possible to modify this script to also log the # of attempts per IP, and with no database at all you can come up with a solution.

It requires a bit of work, but is simpler than messing with a Database :)

    Hope I was of help.
