Blocking Copyscape from my PBN sites

Am currently blocking bots such as ahrefs, majestic etc. from my PBNs, but can't do so for my Web2.0s. As I'm using spun content, if my competitors were to do a Copyscape search for my Web2.0s, they'll be able to uncover my PBN sites.

Hence the question, does anyone know how to block Copyscape from my PBNs? Possibly by tweaking the htaccess file or something?

If you are using wordpress then you can use content secure plugins.

you can block copyscape through htacsses but you have to block their IP's otherwise it wont work

Yea that's what I thought too. What are Copyscape's IPs?

Im curious, what plugin do you use to blog crawlers on your PBN

no plugin I block them with .htaccess.
I honestly don't know if there are plugins that block crawlers

So what IPs do you block to prevent Copyscape from peeking into the PBN site?

1) Put up a page on a site that you own.
2) Log all visits with and make sure you get their IP address.
3) Copyscape check your page.
4) Do it several times to see if you can discover an IP range to block, multiple IPs etc.
5) Block them.

Its doubtful that anything you attempt will be bullet proof. They likely rotate IPs occasionally, so you had better constantly keep an eye out for more IPs to block. And if you bot block, that is only a request.

The #1 thing people can do to protect their PBNs that nobody ever does is to not make your PBN sites look like obvious crappy PBNs. But that requires thought/work so nobody ever does it...

I thought I'd be lazy sometimes, but using content for a PBN that doesn't even stand a copyscape check is really lazy.

Copyscape works in an underhanded manner, hiding its spider behind a generic User Agent and a domain name that gives you the entirely false impression of somehow being connected to Google while in reality it belongs to Copyscape itself.
often you will see their ip's pretending to come from googlealert.com

the following is the ip's that I am aware of at the moment but as it has been said before in this thread it is not bulletproof

162.13.83.46,
212.100.254.105,
212.100.239.219,
and copyscape ip range
212.100.243.112-116
