Blocking Bot traffic and unusual activities

Hello all,

There is a local news app where you can post news. {Yes, users can post news.}
and they will pay if the news got a min number of views.

The problem is that some nerds started taking this as an opportunity and posting news and blasting it with Bots.

I am passing the traffic through cloudflare and its showing that it is blocking "Known bots",
Also I have added this https://moz.com/ugc/blocking-bots-based-on-useragent today.

Is there any other way to detect and block these bots..?
