I just received the following from the BlockB*uster affiliate program:

This is a notice to inform you that the commission payout to all publishers in the Blockb*uster Affiliate program will be lowered by $10.00 per sale.

Blockb*uster is choosing to lower the payout rate so that they can stay competitive within the affiliate channel. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause; however, we hope these changes will help with your overall conversion rate.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about these changes.

Thank you,

A $10 cut is pretty big. I wonder how they think this will help with our overall conversion rate. My guess is people will promote it less.

I used to be a manager for them.

My store always had the highest rates on movie passes, rewards and online ups.

This may be a good place for a n00b like me to start. And the lowered commission should make the niche less competitive. if you convert well it will be one worth having if you can keep the work load lite and the pay good.
