So here's the deal... I want to run all my stuff that I usually do overnight (programs), but for obvious reasons I don't want unwanted people taking a look at my computer screen. Is there a way I can "block" either my screen or do something, maybe hide the taskbar, so no one can see what I'm doing until I unlock it? I'm gettig a dedi to run stuff on soon but for now it's the desktop. Any help is appreciated. Posted via Mobile Device
what OS are you running? Both Windows and Linux should allow you to lock the screen while your apps carry on running.
yea turn off the monitor, or if its a laptop, just turn down the brightness all the way until its black
Wow I completely forgot about locking it, I'll do that as well as brightness and turn it off. Btw whoever said it people can turn my monitor back on Posted via Mobile Device
Well depending on the monitor you have, you could just unplug the power cord on both ends and then hide the cord under your bed or something.
"<windows key> + L " will lock the computer and things will continue to run normally, if you are using windoz. Bystanders will need your password to login after that so unless your password is shared no worries about others seeing what you are doing.
