Hi guys, long time lurker here, finally decided to make an account. Been manually running a photography niche account for around 10 months, ~16k followers. Used follow/unfollow for the first 10k, been liking only for the rest.

My question is this: is it normal to lose followers every day? I've been losing double digit followers everyday for around half a year now. Used to think it was because I was following/unfollowing, but I've stopped that for a few months now and I'm still "bleeding" followers everyday. Any thoughts or insights?

Is your total number going down? Or are you gaining more than your losing.

My accounts lose dozens of followers a day, due to bots unfollowing, people unfollowing since I unfollowed them. But it doesn't matter since I gain way more than I lose. Plus those people/bots most likely wouldn't engage anyways.

If your total is going down you either aren't targeting the right people, you aren't posting enough, or your content isn't good enough.

Total number is still going up, but I get days where growth is marginal. I'm confident it's not a niche targeting problem or content problem because the engagement is still quite good.

Was just wondering if there was some algorithm change or if I got somehow penalized for follow/unfollowing too much. Before I hit 10k I was losing single digit followers but now it's gone up to around 30-50 a day.

how many post a week?

Now you have more followers, so it's normal to lose more followers also.
I have some accounts losing near 100 followers per day, but as long as the balance is positive, I don't care much about it
