Hum... I jumped in for 3 days ago. A little bit late and I hadn't any thoughts about winning this but rather wanted to see how good a couple of techniques I have thought of but never really had the time to try out.
And to be honest... I did less then 30 minutes of work. 1 blogg, brand new which wasn't indexed in Google at all and after setting it up I only visited it once and made a few new postings (less then 5 minutes).
Now this blogg is on page 3 on Google and climbing... And yes I know that there's not so many listings in Google at all but for a SEO contest it doesn't matter.. If there only had been 1000 listings in total at Google it should still be hard work to get moving in the SERPs.
You guys have to shape up!! This is far too easy! I still don't think I will reach page 1 in time and for sure not the top spot but that's not my intention either. I shouldn't even be on page 3 at all, at least not without making a hell of a lot more work.
Although.. If I had jumped into this in time I am sure that I would be among the top 5 listings on Google by now and that's with only one blogg. I could have put some more time into this and made 10 blogs and I am sure that I would have dominated the first page by now.
I'm not saying that people are doing things wrong. It might be a question of time (always somewhat strange and not natural when rallying for the top spots in a SEO competition) but I think that there are plenty of high listings that shouldn't be there at all and which would be easy to kick down in the SERPs.
If people are doing the same SEO for a competive niche they will for sure give away most of their potential incomes to others who does the SEO better.
I think that people should spend some time in the WH SOE forum as well and I am can for sure see some need for some quality posts there. If getting the time, I got a critical deadline coming up and not so much time at the moment which also was the reason why I didn't put more then 30 minutes into this.. That was for setting up a new blog, adding some content (on-page SEO included but very little) and for some off-page SEO.

I get the same result on both. SO i guess firefox, i will check both!

LoL* I just think I kicked my site into the sandbox. My blog isn't to be find anywhere anymore.
I did run several modules with SeNuke in a row. I'm a little bit stressed (got a deadline comming up for a job) and did run things earlier today in between work with SeNuke and totaly mixed up the URLs I was going to post, bokmark and ping.
The blog I was playing with didn't have too many day's to count for so it's not much holding it up if any Google filter kicks in...
Good luck to ya all and for them who want to do some last minute (day) effort.. Do add some hot news copied form Google news and run it through Google Translate (english > French > German English) and then post it to your blog and t oa couple of free wordpress and blogger bblogs with links pointing to your main blog/site. Then ping the RSS feeds and you will get into the rush. Google just love hot news posts in any format and if you have anything related to any of the hottest Google news (but not an exact copy) it do normally throw some extra powder on the fire. Add on top of that some bookmarks too but don't overdo things and keep track of your URLs so you don't mix them up.
