You aren't blocked by the site itself but the ISP. Proxies don't do a thing if it's an ISP block, you need a VPN.

Thats a bit strong even for Sky. I'm with Virgin and anything they block normally say's its following a court order. Wonder if they will follow.
I used to have Virgin back in the UK, never had an issue.

Sky isn't blocking BHW, I'm on sky myself and had the same issue when I first joined them.
It is actually their security package that they provide, it's on by default. You need to log into your sky account and turn it off.

This is what I was getting at with the filtered x blocked.
You would know if it was blocked via court order as it would have to be stated and some of the online media channels would report it.

I know o2 will sometimes block us when the wifi node has the child safety filter on (*cough* mcdonald's) - apparently we're rated as having adult content. I've tried getting this designation removed but the huge amount of bouncing boob gifs posted by some of you didn't really help my case
But yes, most of the UK ISP's will filter "adult content" sites by default and you have to specifically opt out of this. Sky do this by default for all their customers who've signed up in the last couple of years.
