There is a movie coming out called "Blackhat" that makes it look like we are secret hackers that can take over operations or something. Is anyone worried that this will shine light on our marketing techniques to popular culture? I'd say that our community remains unknown to most people in the marketing profession at the moment.

Also do you think it's possible to do what the guy is doing in the movie or do you think it's just some fiction movie dramatization

you do realize, that we here don't have much in common with blackhat hackers aka cyber criminals
we're just bending the rules, if we bend them at all, they're crossing them

haven't seen the movie yet, but that imdb rating is not too good

yea but I don't like the association they're making in the media since it's the first time many people have heard the word blackhat. not even too sure if i'm going to watch it to be honest.

The thing is that this forum have nothing to do with blackhat stuff. It's just the name.

well I do like to wear a blackhat , but I'm not a criminal for sure.

Someone asked me is this what kind of marketing community I'm involved in. It's the ignorance of popular culture since everything can be completely ethical in regard to our marketing practices.
