I'm getting emails from someone threatening to destroy my site's ranking with Blackhat SEO, and for the most part I'd ignore this person as I have been (it's someone who's been trying to do business with me but I told them I wasn't interested), but I am worried about this most recent threat. Is there anything that can be done to prevent his attempts or report this guy? TIA

no, not much you can do.. at the same time dont worry about it... if it was that easy to do negative seo, everyone and their mother would have done it on their competitors. google has gotten smart on this.

Is it someone from BHW?

No, at least not to my knowledge.

That's what I was hoping to hear, thanks!

No! First mistake is to ever response to his e-mails. Let me tell you how this is done. He send 1-2-3-5 million messages. He doesnt know which your website is, nor who you are. So he offers SEO services. Once someone decline, he start with threats. So, block him, never open another e-mail with him. Thats it. Also if he send you fiverr profile in his first e-mail - report him there. Thats it. Never ever reply to such e-mails,. thats just get you in his short list.

My mistake was responding to his initial email, but he knows my site already, that's how he found my contact info and he also has my domain in his email. Will definitely ignore these from now on.

ignore it! it is not as easy as he thinks.
if any problems are happened, notify users in this topic for finding solution.

Most of them are empty threats. Just ignore and never respond. Most of them do nothing about it.

Really appreciate the helpful responses from this community, I'm definitely less worried now!

Sounds like the scam is something else here. Nobody warns you they're going to neg your sites before doing it and if they do then they've already proven themselves very bad at it.

No he didnt know your site specifically - there are scrapers that just feed him with thousands and thousands URLs and e-mails - he just send to all of them.

It's usually automated via software.
Most likely, he really didn't know your website, just his software did.

He is prob sending this to million people and just catches whomever crumbles, just ignore.
However you said hes been trying to do business with you but you declined.
What was he offering to do?

Anyway even if he is targeting you specifically bc of bad blood, most people just need to vent, if you go back and forth he gets more worked up, if you go silent he eventually gets tired and bored and moves on.

it strange I buy many applications from here only, don't go anywhere else but I seem to get plenty of affiliate info and adverts galore.

I do ignore everything, never talk to these email posters ever.

from time to time they get mad and send some real bad emails I still just mark it as spam .

I personally fill an email address is to dangrous to work with or post back on comments.

I only use my email account if I am emailing a person and waiting for a reply even then I check the header.

I do fill many are making money via selling their own customer emails, my opinion as i can see from my inbox .

anyone here get this crap or fill this way?

SEO services. He was saying how he could build up my site rankings and to be fair his email didn't sound like the generic spammy ones that I usually get which is why I responded initially to learn more. But after a few back and forth I really wasn't interested in what he's offering so I declined and have been ignoring his follow ups. I guess he's mad now because I wasted his time?
