Hey guys,

I have read that Google penalizes websites for using blackhat tactics. Why do people still use blackhat tactics then? Why not just Whitehat?

Because SEO = Black hat, there's no such thing as whitehat SEO, any kind of link building done with the purpose of improving site rankings is already considered whitehate regardless of it being manual or not.

With this said, blackhat SEO is very alive still.

OP, some people rank websites knowing that the results are "temporary" (all rankings are temporary and subject to change) for projects such as churn and burn SEO sites (which you can just research for more information).

Almost everything is technically black hat. All marketing methods are trying to do is promote their websites in order to acquire the monies.

Just stick around a bit more and you will understand what we are doing here. :D

It's fine, ThePoolPlayer. To easily search the forums, use this search modifier in Google:

Replace "yoursearch" with your own search query. For example, to learn more about specific black hat methods, use the following search queries:

churn and burn site:blackhatworld.com
pbn site:blackhatworld.com

From there, you'll understand why people use black hat SEO tactics. :)

Actually BlackHat SEO is dead. A years ago you could rank your site through only Black hat techniques/SEO But now a days the situation is fully reversed. Google may di-indexed your site within a day. So, Now you can't do Black hat seo only but yea you can mix them up. A large portion should be white hat and a minimum portion should be black hat.
