So I've been back for only a day after several years of going offline to pursue offline investments (brick and mortars/real estate/etc) but in coming back I see not a lot has changed. Sure, the rules are a little different, but is there any REAL blackhat going on inside the interwebs that is being discussed on here? Or is it still download script kiddie land? I don't say that in jest, but it's the reality.
It used to be all about the tools. You had a developer for this or an automation developer for that. Desktop based apps went the way of the Bill Cosby being funny and the trend has peaked towards web based subscription based apps..which only makes sense as a dev who has to maintain their own overhead.
So if it's not about the tools anymore, it's surely about tracking the metrics..what makes a good keyword, what makes a good domain, what makes a good niche, etc..that's all dye in the wool good seo. But is it blackhat? Not really.
If you don't want to say if blackhat is still alive on an open forum, i get that too. When we were throwing up tons of doorway pages for clickbank and adsense rev gen..it was MONEY. We were gaming the index. It's always about gaming the index. Throw up 500 domains, and expect to bring in 35-85k month, depending on the time of year and niche. Classic!
So where are we today? Educate this guy. Are there other forums where people still get together and discuss blackhat techniques as opposed to pseudo greyhat "how do i use moz,da, or insert some other metric to track something?" Has blackhat techniques advanced in the last 3-4 years or are people still trying to find that smoking PBN gun that will drive traffic and profits?
Inquring blackhat minds what to know?!
