Black Hat University Degree

I know its all about money making ideas that work and i must say i am pretty unimaginative there. I think my imagination got tired along the way.:D

Of perhaps i was never good with money. :(

The only thing i would say ernesthemingway is the real good thing about learning to program black hat is that it enables you to reduce the costs of BH and also optimize the work you do.

I like the idea of capturing some good BH processes and replaying them back. Maybe only making a small amount of consistent money. I am not that versatile where i can have hundreds of money spinning ideas - so i'd sooner find a few good ones and automate them.

The website mentions there will be software/scripts available on the bhu website, can anybody who's signed up to it shed a little light on what this is?
 
Programming itself won't make you a "hacker" or to be able to blackhat. Most people on here do fine and can't even program.

However, being able to reverse engineer a server so you can find a buffer/stack overflow to dump data is something most "hackers" can't do and wish they could, whilst most programmers would easily be able to find a way ...

My thoughts?

Learn VB/vb.net. spend 6 months soaking up every bit of code, building systems, even try and contribute to some OS projects.

Once you're comfortable, move onto JAVA. get used to OO languages, librarys etc. this takes about a year. Try and build everything you think of, and if you can't, you need to carry on learning java.

Once you know java inside out. Learn C. not C++, just C. this will be easier since you know alot of java & vb. Its just diffferent syntax etc. But since its cross platform and has direct hardware access, its more powerful than java.

Once you've spend a year or 2 programming with C, you need to learn ASM. This will take about 3 years,no joke. Understanding this thoroughly you will need a really high level, indepth understanding of operating systems and their management processes, and how everything works together.

However, once you can happily understand ASM and convert beetween C & ASM & Back, you can do anything.

You can go, dis-assemble your favourite application, crack it, find exploits, utilize them, anything.

I understand basic ASM & can do the rest. I have a very in depth knowledge of operating systems and ALOT of the math behind every. I still struggle. I can crack basic applications, but nothing serious.

Theres the next few yeears of your learning sorted. Go have fun with it.

PS - Learning to reverse engineer anything from ASM will make you VERY VERY rich, VERY VERY quickly. Its highly illegal, and people will pay through the nose for some secrets competitors software uses.

Jammie, If you can create a programming course that makes people money, then you made it. People say that it takes 5 years to get to here or here.

People don't have that long. With a focused course, people want to be doing Black Hat of every kind within months.

So the approach must be to cut out the irrelevant stuff and draw up a fast track course that covers only what is required.

Now there is a problem for an ace programmer to solve.

Suggest
Step 1: Design poster apps
Step 2: Design back end code - proxy checkers
Step 3: Auto Site Builders
Step 4: Design cooking stuffers
Step 5: sniffers and other protocol analysis / (http:/adsense/adwords api etc)
Step 6: code crackers

That sort of thing. Can you and headspin get together on this maybe?

This looks like VB.Net with maybe a little C, followed by a short course in ASM and debuggers - maybe o.l.ydlb

I just went over and registered at their forums but cant see a damn thing on it.... its all non viewable for me and i aint reveived a comfirmation email either :S

that sucks was wondering what all the fuss was about and now looks like i will never be able to see :(

already have and am waiting for a reply.... but it said to register on the forums as it was closed so i did and nothing of use :( bit annoying really.....

does this cost?
 
you don't have to be a programmer to earn online

but you do need to learn basic stuff like FTP,html and domain/hosting
 
Something like $100 per month lewi.

damn... think i will stick to my money making methods i hate paying out a fixed amount per month for something i could learn on my own over a longer time period.... lool or im just tight :P

That is all i know plus a little knowledge in a blackhat technique and an idea. Let's see if i can earn a decent income with only that :)
 
Rudy, all programming courses make you money. If you can program, do freelance work. You can make some really really good money if you try!

If you want to make money in programming, learn some maths. Study "Graph theory" and "theory of computation" and "artifical intelligence". You'll learn about NP-Hard (aka Np-Complete) problems.

If you find a solution to these, you literally get paid $1m by a government backed company. You can patent the idea, and you will literally be a BILLIONAIRE if you did it. Why? every single search algorithm is bounded by these problems.

Solve one, solve them all.

Time critical systems could run faster. Searches could be faster, AI could be more intelligent, Computers wouldn't take as long for anything.

Every single computer and system would have to pay you royalties. Not bad 'eh.

But i know people who have worked on it for over 60 years, and know 10 or so who have worked on it purely dedicated for the last 5-7.

They're proving smaller things all the time which can help. But no one knows if its even possible. It may take 100 small breakthroughs. It may take over 10 million little parts to come together.

I'm doing a PHD in it at MIT (hopfully!) after i've done what i'm doing now. Except i'm doing it in relation to quantum computing, as thats my area of expertise =]

Jammie, i really hope you get your PHD and that you can turn it into some serious income.

It may be nothing but a lot of money was made in the 90's when i was working at IBM. A formula was used for brands that did well and it went something like this.

Rapid and Tactical deployment of small technology increments, which are highly adaptable and which fit into an overarching, all-encompassing architecture.

This formula came from Paul A Strassman, who at the time was IS Director of the U.S Department of Defense. Apparently they used this formula in Desert Storm where client-server computers were deployed in such a way that when one was taken out the others took over.

Definitely a PHD thesis in their somewhere and maybe some great products. :)
