If you want to be a real pro who can fix everything without any help , then you need to learn at least JS (a bit) and HTML/CSS for optimization.
but for wordpress we have many plugins and cheap experts that can help you to add or do anything that you want

If you actually read about blackhatseo. all of the software you would need is already out there.

you don't at all, it would help because you can tinker around with different ideas but you can still get rich without knowing how to code.

As a Black Hat SEO expert, you can learn it as an additional support!
 
In Black hat seo it is not mandatory to learn codeing. Instaed you can try to learn other strategies and tactics that can help.

But, if you really interested to learn coding, you can ahead. It will help in later..

I would expect all SEOs to have a working knowledge of HTML at least. Programming skills will give you an edge, but you also need the programming mindset to go with it. Many people have skills in different areas of SEM - you should take time to hone the skills you do have if programming seems a daunting task.
 
My opinion is you need to learn some coding too, minimum is you can create a landing page or wordpress

Depends on your black hat methods. If you want to build a solid PBN, do linkbuilding and stuff like this, you probably don't. HTML and CSS of cause - but thats not really coding ;)
If you want to play the spam game, you will work with tons of Data, perhaps billions of pages, and this is most likly only handable with homebrew coded sollutions.
 
Not mandatory but definitely helps if your site gets hacked

Coding must upgrade SEO skills because automation is the future of SEO. Customized scripts, and automation bots are required to cut down manual time-consuming actions.
