Hi guys, i'm doing a background check on an seo company seo-magic-webs. com/. People have accused them of using black hat techniques but i'm new to this so if you guys can help me out it'll be greatly appreciated.

Here's a list of websites that they work on :

Is there any black hat techniques used with these websites at all?

What are you hoping to acheive by this, do you want to learn their tecniques, or do you want to get evidence and report them?
 
They approached me to do up my site. Prices are decent so i'll willing to give it a shot but wanna make sure they're clean first.

Check the backlinks in backlinkwatch.com
If you see lots of unrelated chinese sites or pure spam, you know what it is.

Btw, I wouldn't be scared of blackhat techniques, unless we are talking about old and hard slammed by Google techniques (e.g. link farms).

If they can guarentee you a specific ranking, go with them. Make sure you pay by escrow. If they can't guarrenty, pm me and maybe I can.
 
well bhseo is ok in some cases to me any way if you are for example if you have a site that you want qucik traffic bh is ok and if you looking more for long term i suggest white hat now is this site a long term site
 
It's gonna be for long term purposes. The price i got quoted for is 1.5k USD for about 4 keywords. Guaranteed first page google within 6 mth or money back.
Anyway their rival company might reveal to me evidence of them using black hat techniques. If i do get hold of a url you experts can help me check out if its clean.
I understand that it might be ok to use blackhat afterall but my keywords are not the most competitive and also i'm only trying to capture local users so i really don't wanna risk anything.
 
I don't think someone care about what they are doing to promote their sites :) .... if they can put their sites on the moon then fine for me :)
 
Sorry hexalor and people here. In fact i don't feel too good myself asking for free help. However, being the cheap bastard that i am, i would like to DIY or seek help first before paying. So will anyone please let me know if these tools are of any good? And thank you jazzc i'll check out the backlinks of all those sites.

Black hat Blue Hat White Hat.... What the fucks the difference? If you rank for the keywords and you stay up there, who really gives a flying fuck what technique they used?

How many results is your most competitive keyword?
 
talk to their customers, find out if they have had lasting results and are happy. if your scared create a second website for them to optimise.
