While there are some people that say that will only use "White Hat SEO" techniques other prefer just to use Black Hat SEO. Depending on what you want to do whether it is Churn and Burn or build an authority website you can use a mix of these techniques to achieve greatness in Google Yahoo And Bing. Now that is simple to say but Google's response on paid links is pretty simple NO PAID LINKS. Well getting paid links that look natural are a way to get around this rule, while others claim this is white hat SEO I won't mention names it is surely black hat as you are tricking the search engine. The old saying comes into mind if it walks like a fish smells like a fish then it is a fish when thinking that tricking a search engine is white that is rather funny.

Now when buying links I would recommend purchasing links on forum accounts that have high number of posts and that just happen to mention you inside of their post and say " This place is great yadda yadda (something natural looking not an entire article, unless, of course, the member normally writes huge posts." Now the people that say they just black hat SEO often do name things to benefit themselves in the search engines with keywords etc which is white hat SEO.

The point of this post is don't get stuck with labels and come into knowing that both techniques can have benefits and black hat bad links can lead to problems in Google while the same links can have a positive benefit in other search engines, all depends on where you want to go with it. Do you use Black or white hat SEO? Why don't you use both or do you?

Bottom Line:

Make links look natural = black hat and it works and is called astroturfing but just make sure you don't get caught and if you do get ready to lose all the money or time you spent on building that kind of links.

Good luck fellow BHW's let the hate posts insue? :O lol

The only white hat seo that its allow by google is guestblog and of course what Matt call "natural" ways to promote as one comment here and there, and article in a article directory and if you continue in that way them Matt will call It black hat seo.

White hat seo follow the guide Line of search engine. Update the fresh content and Do Social site Updates.
Black hat seo does not follow the Guide line of search engine. Black Hat use the spamming content, cloaking etc.

so you are saying creating backlinks to rank website (Trick Search engine) is black hat?

Maybe or maybe not but i am doing this from last 5 years and never got caught with simple bookmarking, forum posting, commenting etc. and i got good results too still my ranking is first of first on few keywords and many on first page. :p

Stop saying SEO is DEAD

Good read. With regards to making a link look "natural" what is your opinion on using the naked URL versus anchor text when building links to your site on forum accounts?

"Any offpage seo" is "black hat seo" according to google. Any link "built" CANNOT be organic. So, link building itself is blackhat. As simple as that.

I have tried listening to google and experimenting with "no backlinks" strategy for a long time. It simply "wastes" time, money and energy. I have seen many "organic links" sites also tank in google updates and many blackhat sites remaining unaffected. So, don't believe every word.

It is upto "google and google only" what they consider blackhat and when they consider blackhat. A few years ago, directory submission, article submission etc. were whitehat but all became forbidden by google. Don't be surprised if guest posts are considered blackhat by Cutts in a few years. The only thing that will never be considered blackhat in the long run is "paid ads" and you obviously know the reason why. ;)

In my views Black hat means tricking google. but making backlinks is never blackhat. I would like to note it that building non natural backlink is spam.
sometimes black hat work and shows miracles in days but the lack of stability says that the ranks can disappear in the blink of eyes.
so i prefer white hat to many extents for stability in ranks.
i must say nothing is white hat, thats grey hat now. lol

Building backlinks is blackhat and there is nothing you can do about it. You can either choose to stay whitehat, blackhat or greyhat.

Really, what's the difference between hiring an outsourcer to go generate "white hat" links for you vs. paying a PBN link provider for some links? That's really splitting hairs.

There are cases where the difference is clear -- hiring person A to ask for a free link on person B's site is clearly not the same as paying person B for a link on their site. But there are so many cases that the difference is really trivial.

Me, my hat's pretty gray. I try not to actually do anything illegal, but beyond that, I'll do whatever works.

I agree that backlinks are blackhat. Many do not even realize that they are doing blackhat ;) I would suggest if you know nothing about blackhat to stick with the white and gray til you can successfully know what and how to do blackhat.

It's funny how many new registered members explain (in their own imaginary way) what is Blackhat SEO. :clap2:
95% of these members next post will be "How to rank on Google's page 1".
Btw, I stick with the old saying: "There is no Blackhat, Greyhat nor Whitehat SEO... Only Money making SEO"

p.s. Forget about Google guidelines, they are here so we can breach them!

Black hat seo Does not follow the Guide Line of search engine. Black hat SEO techniques are Keyword Spamming, Link Farming etc.
White hat seo Follow the Guide line search engine.

I like to treat the hats of SEO as a spectrum rather than deal with them in absolutes.

It's so blatantly obvious that you have no idea what you're talking about, yet you continue to spout this nonsense like you're some guru. It's almost like you know that you're talking nonsense too, but don't care. How you get away with it is beyond me. Someone could take your advice seriously and get their site de-indexed.

Stop with this garbage already man, you're making yourself look like a clown.
