In SEO nothing is very long lasting so the best info you will get is from forums (when not experimenting yourself).
E-books are not worth to purchase because usually these aren't worth anything.
When you are eager to learn SEO you have come to the right forum and there is a lot of material to read (only way to get the knowledge is to read a lot at the beginning)
