Black Friday is it a Scam or not?

If your an infrequent buyer it can look like that, but you should consider for your best economic future the position of the seller! What better a way to spend your time doing some easy marketing and selling, and jumping on probably the biggest band wagon after xmas now. (it must be a close second for deals done globally)

Well, I just bought a yearly proxy plan, because it's 50%. And I coincidentally really needed it, so I anyway should've bought it. So I ultimately saved 50%.
I highly doubt that after this sale it will cost lower than that.
I'd say otherwise, inflation is very high (price increases are frequent) so I believe I've made a smart choice.

I get u, but me personally i have made really good deals when it wasnt black friday, Im not even talking about sales, guess its just luck

For me, I target Black Friday deals to renew some of the tools I use, and I think it’s been one of the smartest things I’ve been doing for a couple of years now : )
I just renew those tool subscriptions with the annual plan and it’s the sweetest : )
However, when it comes to going crazy and grabbing everything you see just because it’s cheaper on Black Friday, I don’t do that.
Some people end up buying things they don’t really need because of that impulse.

Yeah, it’s kind of blown out of proportion. A lot of “deals” are either pre-marked-up or just normal prices dressed up as discounts. Black Friday only really makes a difference if you’re buying big-ticket items or if a retailer is actually clearing stock. For everyday stuff, waiting until you actually need it usually saves more hassle.

Exactly but thats rarely the case, and if thats the case it can happen at any time not just during black friday

When it comes to online services like VPS, Black Friday does offer slightly lower prices.

I got several deals that are only avalible on bfcm, You get the best out of the deals when you are prepared and you know exactly what you need for the rest of the year

It depends on the country, niche, etc... Some have crazy discounts, but I find that in my country (Poland) there's no difference in prices. And for ecom items, I'm in Asia now and they have 11:11 and deals before that and after that... Last year I ordered some stuff on 11:11 and it was still discounted after lol, for people that are late I guess xD.

Yeah, it’s a thing, but it really depends on the store. Some places do have real discounts, but a lot of others just mark prices down a little or raise them before lowering them again. I usually only buy something if I already planned to — not just because it’s Black Friday.

actually its not scam in many products because of end of the year.
most brands try to finish their last year's products in the stocks. It has few reasons, I know 2 of them thats why sharing only 2;
1) Trying to increase the yearly sells report as much as possible right before end of the year.
2) Trying to finish the old product before start the new year. Because stocks will be old product with new year (its not old for me but you get the point). For example in 2026, do you want to buy 2025 car or 2026? even if its exact same car? Mostly electronic devices (except iphones, they have different strategy for this, they anounce the new iphones september, I dont know is it thats why but feels its new on new year also)

Not for me as a retailer, my prices rise 2 weeks before black Friday, then suddenly slash on black Friday and cyber Monday. I have huge sales at my all year round prices. Just because 'black friday' has been marketed that way.
