.biz vs .co?

EMDs are available with both .biz and .co. Not available with .com, .net, .org, .info etc.


Keywords stats:


Adwords competition: High
Traffic Travis SERPs competition: Relatively easy
Exact local searches: 2400
Avg CPC: $3


What I want from this site:
1. First page rankings
2. Traffic


I don't care about Adsense and all.


Which extension to go for? .biz or .co?

What type of site is it? Just a simple blog, affiliate site, e-commerce...?
 
Go with .co, .biz is more for the business side and if you're not selling a product, .co would be the better extension type of the two to go with.

It will kind of be a business site, 'kind of' only. Will be promoting other people's business. Not selling anything though. Might be charging some money to review other people's business or something like that. Not selling anything to visitors.

The only reason why I'm not so much inclined toward getting a .co is cause its a country code domain. My site will have absolutely nothing to do with Republic of Colombia. However, .co sounds nice but site has nothing to do with Colombia. Whereas, .biz is a generic domain. What do you guys think?

if the only choice is between .biz and .co i would go for .biz
 
Personally I love the .co there all I have used for the past 24 months all emd all sites have ranked well all my sites fly up serps personally I think Google is giving the .co some extra love
 
If it's informational, then I would go with .co. I know lots of people who stand by .co's if they can't get the .com, .net, .org, or .info domains but there are those who also stand by .biz's. I've only seen one exact match .biz domain dominate its search terms.
 
i will suggest to you .co because The .CO is a wide-open name space with literally millions of exciting, memorable options for branding your online presence!.CO not only has global appeal, but it is also closely associated to "COmpany," "COrporation," and "COmmerce". Plus with the huge rise of online social networking through communities which are COnnecting and COmmunicating, the .CO domain allows your brand to stand out from the crowd!
 
In our testing, we have found .co to be the better choice. It appears to rank slightly better in the SERPS. It could just be coincidence, but you never know.
 
Gotta put my +1 to .co -> always turned out to be an excellent choice for EMD.
 
I got a .biz domain and it indexed in google pretty fast. All I did was put up a theme with no content, just "working on site, will be up later, etc"

1 week later I found it
 
Today, I was only a few seconds away from purchasing a .biz and I just thought of checking this thread one more time and I saw all these replies and almost everyone suggesting me to get .co.

The only reason I'm going for .biz is because its generic, and .co is for Colombia and my site has nothing to do with that place. I just don't want my visitors (more importantly future sponsors) to think that I do not have the sense to choose a domain, and every other person will know that .co is a country domain for Colombia.

.us is also available and I almost bought it before I found out that it does not have privacy protection. I want privacy protection.
 
.co

they make it so it like new .com but marketed towards everyone. Google thinks of the domain as not localized like other country domains. Matt Cutts talk about it in a video.
 
After all of your suggestions, I guess I'll be dropping .biz and will be going for .co.
