How do these youtube spammers make money?

they comment, saying something like "I heard they are giving out a free ps3. go to bit.ly/whatever
and the comment is thumbed up.

i won't click on these links because i dont want viruses. but I am just curious how they make money from this?

Well, when you go to "bit.ly/whatever", there's a video promoting what they're promoting in their comment, or it takes you to a website that promotes what the comment is offering. It's a simple affiliate technique
