I'd like to know what BHW thinks of these topics. I'm pretty amazed by them.

bought 420 litecoins for around 250 usd now they go for 3.5-4 bucks each. So there's lots of money in them :)

I have been building Litecoin Mining Rigs and charging an installation charge, Installing Litecoin Mining Rigs for customers remotely via SSH and am now looking at Hosting Mining Rigs.
There is a lot of interest in Litecoins and I believe there is a lot of growth in this market. Forget Bitcoins. You are too late for those. I am also working on Pool Servers. There is money to be made here by taking a % Fee for running the Pool. I already have a P2Pool running but am now looking to roll out a Push Pool.

If anyone out there is interested in JV in Litecoin Mining Projects then hit me up on Skype. I am looking for some contacts in the U.S to cover this region also.

This is off topic, but lets say somoene has botnet of 10k users, how much " damage" could one do ,mining litecoins?

Bitcoin mining network was compared to 500 supercomputers. Many of those mine litecoins as well, 10k users with normal PC cant do much with that monster.

An average pc will mine at around 4-5kh/s. This is the hash rate. If we had 10,000 pc's hashing at this rate you are looking at potentially 50,000 kh/s.
This would generate around 72 to 90 LTC Coins a Day. The value of 90 coins today is $271 USD. A week would be $1897. A month would be $8131. A year would be $98931.

There is also the potential for LTC Coins to go up in value like Bitcoins have. If LTC went up to half of what BTC coins are now that $98000 could become $1978620.

I found out that GPU's do most of the work when mining for bitcoins/litecoins, what GPU do you recommend to start with.

ASICs are the bread and butter of mining dude. Without a serious dedicated processor you'd be like trying to swim the pacific with your hands tied behind your back.

And both feet in a sleeping bag.
