Hi guys, well i usually like to hear podscats or interviews, and i was watching an intervew to Charles Hoskinson (Cardano founder and Ethereum Co-Founder), and he said something very interesting: "Bitcoin will dead when an altcoin over him". You can see the reasoning in this video in the minute 17:45.


I've been pondering about this. In the interview he also mentioned something very interesting. Remember Yahoo or Messenger? They were removed from his throne. And maybe defi projects, like Tezos, Cardano, Polkadot and some others change the finance rules.

I not say that this could happen this years or the next year, but the reasoning is interesting, and maybe it's just a matter of time that Bitcoin will be surpass

(By the way, I recommend u to see the full interview if u have some free time, Hoskinson is one of the smartest people in crypto industry.)

What do you thinks guys? We will see in some years to btc dying? Or still will be in her throne some years more?

BTC dying? this is a joke. you should go and research more what is store of value. Technologies coin like ETH and ADA we surely cant sustain for long. If you understand how tech industries changes so fast.
 
Eth gas fees are too high to be practical currency you can't buy a coffee with it.
BTC fees is still too high for everyday use as a currency.
 
I 100% agree with you
Once gas fees are a fraction of a cent like they've been promising for a while people will realize how useless BTC is and eventually another coin will take the crown and will be the crypto standard

Completely agree, I personally don't want to transact over BTC considering the gas fee.
I still remember the first BTC buying i did (years back), just to know what it is and how it operates. Bought BTC worth 15$ and what i received was around 1-1.5$ worth BTC. Atleast me dont want such a loss for some non regulated payments.

Visa was once the major card provider, but its not so far, at least in my country. USD was the major currency for global transactions and its slowly shutting down, these all are living examples for such scenarios.

I don't think replacing BTC is that easy. Maybe due to the volatility, people may use USDT more in the future when they plan on doing crypto payments, but BTC is not going anywhere.
 
Bitcoin one day will be like a paralyzed grandmom at home who can't do anything but still, you will not throw her just because she can't do anything. If she was not there you would not have been born. Same with bitcoin - does not matter how "amazing altcoins" will come into the market, bitcoin will simply be there forever as it is the revolution and first cryptocurrency.
 
BTC has the story. The tech is kind of outdated. If the story of "reserve currency" transitions to another chain, then yes, BTC will be worthless.
 
Well, I can't agree that altcoing coudl replace bitcoin and major cryptocurrencies, mainly because the principle of altcoin working directly depends on fluctuations of bitcoin, because they were created and built based on bitcoin, at least the most part of them. Of course, there are independent altcoins which are based on blockchain or something like this, but predominantly altocoins are based on btc and ltc.
However, we shouldn't exclude the fact that once there might be a situation when bitcoin will getting less interesting for consumers and traders and there will be a new ear of new cryptos, and of course, this place might be taken by alts, but it's quite tough to forecast.
 
The market is unpredictable, but bitcoins should stay on top for a long time I think.

No thats not how it works.
There is lightening network off the chain for bitcoin that makes transactions almost free and faster than Visa and Mastercard

Impossible to compete with other projects. BTC Lightning is a short-term solution with big limitations. Assuming development continues apace, which I find hard to believe. I don't know much about lightning, but what I have clear is that the future does not go through btc lightning.

There will come a point where this will change. Same that now if meta is down 50% microsoft not down or similar

It is possible but will take at least 10 years. Many coins are performing better than bitcoin in returns percentage now.
 
Currently, there is not altcoin which can do this except ETH. But their fees is very high and this is stopping from mass adoption.
 
Ethereum is going to be a bitcoin-killer (if that is a word)... I am expecting ETH to display huge raise when PoS comes into play.
