Bitcoin mining scam?

I was recently approached on a facebook group about a money making opportunity which involves bitcoin mining.
The guy promised me he can earn for me $500 in 8 hours and all I have to do is fund 0.02 btc to my bitcoin wallet.
He's doing this by using some s9 bitcoin mining hardware. He has a pretty legit looking facebook profile.
To be honest I'm pretty desperate right now, since I'm failing miserably at ecom and dropshipping, so I'm actually considering this opportunity.
I don't really know a lot about bitcoin and it pretty much screams SCAM to me so I thought I'd ask the wise BHW community first. What do you think about this?

100% scam. When it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Quick/easy money is always a scam
 
Seriously what do you think? Large companies buy up power plants to get small amounts out of mining. Something in your browser or system app will make you possibly 000000.1 a week.
 
He can earn $500 in 8 hours and have no money to fund 0.02 btc to a wallet, ok, nice method...
 
$500 in 8 hours, bitcoin price will go down so fast :D:D:D

It was pretty obvious that it's not legit but I just wanted to be sure, being new to all this btc stuff. Thanks guys!
 
If you make 10% or more a year in the stock market, it is really good.
No real, legit investment can normally give you anything near this amount. If you get offered 30% of more in ONE YEAR, the chances are like 99,99% that this is a scam.
Of course there are always some exceptions, but in most cases it is scam.
 
Don't trust people from facebook groups. They are all scammers.
