Musk has as many credentials to critique Bitcoin mining as Bill Nye the Science Guy does to critique science (spoiler: Bill Nye isn't a scientist at all and many people on BHW are undoubtedly more qualified to discuss science).

Bitcoin mining is no where near as bad for the environment as they are saying. Musk wants Solar City to be the world's leading Bitcoin mining facility. His way of doing it is fudding Bitcoin mining and trying to get it regulated so that only renewable sources will be used.

He's a swine actually. When this all blows up in his face it'll be magical.
 
He just needed an excuse to get into more crypto things
He said that Tesla would accept bitcoin
Then said ohhh, this shit pollutes the environment (he didn't know that apparently)
Oh let me fix this problem that already was fixing itself and have some more influence on this crypto game

Lets just hope it actually blows up in his face. There is a small chance that that concept can be pushed forward enough to give him a nice monopoly slice of the pie.

Yeah anyone having a monopoly over Bitcoin mining is really bad. If that's what he's going for, there will be a huge pushback against it. It basically nullifies the purpose of having Bitcoin in the first place.
