BITCOIN - mining 4 a year now

I've been mining on a 6870 for a few days and make around .4 bitcoins a day. I am not overclocking it so the warranty is still valid. All programs, when given the best flags, return 250MH\s.

Can someone link me to the bitcoin script?

If i got the 6870,and oc it plus use flags,I could expect around 275-280MH/s ?

I get 250MHs without OC. OC can add 10-20%. I'm using flags. Without them, you lose more than a OC. So the answer is yes, but these cards can go up to 330.

So its worth spending $184 on the 6870?

That is an open question. It is up to you on whether you think you can pull it off. I can tell you that it is a great card for mining, but the 5800 series is better for price, but good luck finding one. Do a lot of research, write some notes and stuff. Then decide.

Newegg restocked their 5830's and they were gone in like 20 minutes. AMD must be loving this.

I still wouldn't touch this currency with a 10 foot pole. Accepting bitcoins for my services (i run a few) would be like shooting myself in the face...

What and how am I going to convert that into a lamborghini? The car dealership is certainly not accepting bitcoin, let alone, would even have heard of it.

I'm just wondering.... :) I see its purpose with buying anonymous stuff online, but someone is going to be "responsible" for that somehow if shit hits the fan.

haha agree man !

almost like on dp type site where people with big rep realize in real life huge forum/internet rep will get you nothing. tell bank you got big rep they say big deal. tell grocery store got big rep let me front of line they laugh.

but at least bitcoin can be used now at this time for non usa legal items and that what it thrive on at least i see it this way

I'm going to wait until I get a full bitcoin, then see if this is really worth it,then if it does ill get a 5830,i found lots of places that have them online.

I'm going to start mining on my linux desktop which has a hd 4670,and my laptop, and see how fast it will take to get 1 bitcoin

Got things going too, I was running at 1.9 MH/Sec but I changed the device and now I'm getting 148 MH/Sec.

Win 7 64bit
Dual Core cpu
Raedon hd 5770 not overclocked

No idea how good or bad this is

you need to add the flag settings -v -w128 and it will increase your settings. OC and those flags will get about 200Mh/s. Sometimes it will get to 284MH/s avg over last 10 minutes.

Cool, that got me to 175 w/o overclocking. My balance still says 0.000 BTC confirmed though.

I changed the flag settings: -v -w128 and I went from 1.5 Mhash/s to about 800 Khash/s

I believe thats worse right?

Change the device settings, its to the left of the flag settings. You probably have it set to cpu right now.

It sounds like you are using a CPU, which aren't worth it, or barely worth it. NVIDIA cards are pretty useless in this as well. If newbies want to get any money at this, they have to be in a pool. Calculate how much you will make http://www.alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculator.php
