BITCOIN - mining 4 a year now

I downloaded the bitcoin software and it kept building the blocks - 120061 blocks i see here and about 10-100 connections at anytime.

But, I have seen no growth in the number of coins. It is still 0. What is wrong here? Do I need something else to get more coins? I thought we needed to build only 50 blocks to earn 1 bitcoin?

LOL People throwing the word Economics around makes me laugh when there is no such thing. Much like people studying 'Business Ethics' when in the business world, ethics can't possibly exist.

I just found out about bitcoin 2 days ago and have been trying to figure it out...

I want to mine and have a gaming comp with two vid cards in sli so i should be good?

so if you have anything to sell you can sell it for bitcoin's?

Been running the bitcoin program for over an hour. Its slowing up my system. 60k blocks going and still 0.00 bitcoins. Am I missing something.

no from what I read it could be years before you see any bitcoins

word on the street is mining doesn't work any more.

bitcoins' value is sharply dropping. was over $30/coin 2 days ago, now its around $10.

yea I already feel like ive wasted too much time on this

30/10 time to buy or what?

bitcoin has been around for a few years.

Your all missing the point... By opening the BitCoin program your doing nothing. The blocks in the corner is just transactions, it will stop when it reaches around 130k by then your fully up to date...

You need to download a miner join a Pool and then start mining.

I have problems with the conf of the miner. how can i connect the miner with the bitcoin program?

Market seemed to bottom out around 10, now rebounding up a bit to 16.

The bitcoin market is crazy, haha. It's something akin to a perfectly competitive monetary system. In other words, value is determined purely on the basis of demand and supply.

Swings are very volatile and can be rather drastic. I did some odd jobs in .onion land a couple of months ago and did accumulate some significant amount of bitcoins, sold them all a couple of weeks or so ago, right after the whole media frenzy in connection to the silkroad market.

I really love the whole concept tons, it's a fucking peer-to-peer currency for godssakes, whats not to love? However, mining is not as lucrative as it used to be. As it is a perfectly competitive market (as of now), the value of your mining operation will only diminish as more and more people flood the market.

Sadly enough, there's just not that much you can spend your bitcoins on. Yes there are a couple of marketplaces where you could buy drugs, weapons or whatever else you desire, but who's really interested (well except for the drugs of course, haha)? The value of the currency might only diminish from here on in, before it stabilizes again, seeing as how most of the markets have stopped accepting new members (which is probably a good thing).

Cheers

Make my words, if you are going to make money on this do it know while you still can. Like anything else this will diminish very quickly and the people at the bottom on the pyramid will get screwed. BTW Bitcoins are selling like crazy on Ebay.

Like I said get in and out as fast as you can before that B*tch crashes

download & run it.
8 connections & 51K blocks
my bitcoins address : 1FS3J3yT3aNH4BGMTjyqbh8dk8HUMCygbu
now what?
how can i join the miner pool?

Is it just me or does it seam like there is one person posting as three different people on this thread.

Sounds like a savvy businessman if you ask me, he already got some of you involved! Ha!

I seriously wouldn't be surprised if this was the case...

***EDIT: Can't help but wonder why someone with such a strong economic background is requesting donations either...

This comment was directed at another poster, yet both of these guys replied, and then nappyheaded donated...

There is a 3rd culprit, the other newbie who donated.

haha this is funny...
