Hello,

Normally you could see click data as soon as you placed a '+' after a bit.ly link. Now this will be displayed: If this is a Bitly link that you have created, log in to view the click data. Does anyone know if this is temporary? Or is bit.ly going to change this?

Yep saw that too. Was always a nice way of spying on all the stats and a reason not using them...

Seems they got rid of that now as I can only see that as the only ever use for it (well unless you used it to show traffic driven to a site)

They haven't changed their FAQ regarding to this yet: https://support.bitly.com/hc/en-us/...o-view-click-data-without-logging-in-to-Bitly. But if it's how it works now, i wouldn't expect it to get changed back.

If you had an enterprise account with them, you could ask this feature to be turned off for your urls, so others can't spy on you. Apparently they made this a free "feature", so you can't spy on others anymore, but you can still see the stats of your own links.

Thank you for your answers, i couldn't find anything about this.

I have people I pay for clicks and they control their stats via this method, does anyone know a good alternative where this is still possible?

Yes I also realized this.
You can not see now stats. I tried after logging in and logging out but this has not worked for a public other URL's. Totally devastating. Almost all traffic providers use this (including Fiverr)
I think bit.ly will loose business and traffic and they will switch back to + tracking.
However, there is another URL shortener as far as I remember is Bit.do
Instead of + sign in bit.do you have to do a minus sign to track..

Anyone found alternative to Bitly? I started using Cutt.ly but it keeps going down and I lose too many clicks as they do not redirect all traffic to the site due to their downtime.
