Bit.ly for cloaking?

Hey guys, quick question...in terms of cpa networks if I track a link via bit.ly will that show bit.ly as the source of the lead/traffic? i am wondering if it would be effective enough at cloaking the source of my traffic....

bit.ly uses a simple 301 redirect, which will pass the original referer to the target site with most browsers. You can use it to cloak your own redirect links.

use cpa redirector. i don't think bit.ly hides anything.

Yes I agree with angles.. I just tried this a few days ago and it just shortens the url.

when it doubt cloak all your own links in house... i never use anything i dont control. and my referrer never been leaked etc.
BUT i just checked doesnt look like it just a blank referrer but i dont trust it.

bit.ly sometimes leaks the referrer, but not always. Either way, I would recommend cloaking it with your own domain. Bit.ly has taken down my links a few times and cost me lots of money in lost traffic.

Are you guys seriously telling me that you guys didnt know that anyone can check the stats of a bit.ly link by adding a "+" at the end of the link

"http://bit.ly/bddbKf+" = "http://bit.ly/bddbKf " stats

How do you think i check my competition stats on youtube?

Right, use your own hosting so you can control everything. Here is how you can do that in your htaccess file.

htaccess file...

Redirect /534023 http://yourdomain.com/somefile.php?tracking
Redirect /406636 http://yourdomain.com/somefile.php?tracking
etc..
etc..

on 'yourdomain.com' have a tracking script that redirects.

What do you mean? can I clock using this method I own my own server will it help with FACEBOOK ADS?

use it like this bit.ly => your domain => double meta refresh and => cpa network link
