After the last ban wave, I lost all of my accounts. I had a new batch ageing and after a month of sitting dormant, I started botting with no problems. After almost a month of botting, I decided to profile them (just bio and link, profile pic was added at account creation.)

I can add a bio and instagram is quite happy, but the moment I add a link I get slapped with a PV. Every. Single. Time. This has never been the case for me in the past. An account or two would potentially be suspended, but I've never been faced with this many PVs (especially immediately) before.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there any potential workaround? I don't really know if I've done something wrong (I can't imagine what, I haven't deviated from my system that has worked in the past) or if this is just part of instagram's new, higher security.

I'm linking to a weebly pre-lander. I've tried using bitly. I've tried using the naked url. I've tried using bitly on the internal link to my money page. And I've tried using the naked url there too. All with no success.

Thoughts?

Weebly pre-landers and shorteners like bitly are no longer effective at hiding your link. Instagram's crawlers see right through this which is why you're getting a PV immediately after adding the link.

What are you using it for? CPA?
Yes.

Today I also modified my .htaccess file to block their crawler (though it hasn't fixed the problem.) If those methods are no longer working, do you have a suggestion of what is currently working?

If I'd be into your place I'd try to put a general domain like google.com to see if IG have problems with links at all, if it works well and don't request PV then your domain is the problem

after doing that
1-make facebook page
2-add your link in a post
3-get the post link by clicking on the time
4- put that in IG BIO

Instagram crawlers use random browsers, on random OS's. so its pretty much impossible to filter them out.
You can disable every visit from browsers which aren't mobile.
Also your weebly is the type of "click button to proceed" or JS redirect?

It's a "click to proceed" style pre-lander. In the past it has been fine with either shortened or naked urls on the button. Now neither seems to be good.

Try a link to a Tweet. I saw a thread about it a while ago and it's a really good idea. (I haven't tried it as I always used .coms but I don't see why it wouldn't work)
