Does anyone know of a solid Bing SEO guide?
Or should I make one myself?
I'll be honest. I was going to ask this a few days ago. My "Fairly" competitive keyword is ranked #1 on bing/yahoo. However, on google I'm in the middle of page 2. Not sure how bing does it differently although I have heard meta keywords are used more(Could be a fallacy though).
My web-site is also my business so I did add my location on their local listing as well, not sure if that helped any.
Definitely thinking about creating one.
From my observations, Yahoo and Bing have similar algo. So if you want to target Bing do what works on your Yahoo campaigns.
Yahoo and Bing teamed up a few months ago, so they should be almost identical.
Can I use "bing" in a domain name?
Why the hell are you even focusing on Bing?
On one of my sites for every 50 google visits, i get maybe 1 or 2 bing/yahoo visits. Why would i even focus on that?
Certain demographic groups and sociographic groups may prefer Bing to Google... That's why, if you want to target these groups, it makes sense to optimize your site for Bing also.
However, the cost effectiveness is a big question here...
Bing is definitely taking up more of the market. I think they currently control like 30% of the search engine market. On of my sites is ranked evenly in Google and Bing, and it reflects about that 30% ratio.
Yahoo and Bing although inferior to Google as far as search volume should not be ignored. They still control a good portion of the search market.
right now bing relies on two things mainly, unique content and domain age. Domain age will play an even more important role as their index ages. its still just a baby.
Give little focus to bing now, as in future bing will be more used than now (google jacking off and messing up with IM'ers and making them to favour other platforms beside google)
Who uses Yahoo/Bing anyways?
why would anyone care if IMers are mad at google
Where the hell do you think most of the websites come from ?
Just optimize for Google, that's where Bing gets their search results anyways!
what websites, shitty content farms plastered with porn ads? google has no reason to respect the wishes of IMers and nothing to fear from their flocking to bing. first of all, because they never will. second of all, because most of them are parasites
Seriously! I've noticed that bing/yahoo also will go up and down when google does.
because of the nature of bings algorithms it will take several more years for their results to mature. in the meantime they do jack a lot of googles results. as to whether or not they are a threat to google, absolutely not. still i get some fair traffic from yahoo and bing as well. I dont like depending on google for anything. dont put all your eggs in one basket. you should be trying to grab traffic from as many different sources as you can. multiple streams my friend.
markets move swift. underdog almost always becomes the winner at some point.
