I was recently trying out different searches engines by using them as my default search engine on phone, duck duck go was quite bad especially for long tails and I removed it after few days, after that decided to see how bing is doing and I have stuck with it, its pretty decent at returning what you need and don't find a need to switch to google.

I have no knowledge of any search engines on a phone. I refuse to use it for internet - very paranoid about "tracking" etc.

My "two cents" worth: Google is the 800 pound gorilla in the room. If you`re in IM, it is the go-to for chasing a buck. Bing is [apparently] okay for IM [depending, I think, on your niche]. Duckduckgo is neither of those. It will however return a more truthful search for subjects of interest. I do not think it features AT ALL for IM. For research into for example, the Big Pharma lies and deception, Google will lie to you; they have delisted thousands of 'alternate medicine' sites; they favor sites set up by Big Pharma...they are NOT your friend. I obviously use Google for IM, but ultimately, FUCK them!

I am not talking from the POV of a internet marketer, but the POV of a user. As a user it gives quite decent results and its mostly clutter free and I don't have to scroll a page of ads. As a marketer, Google is still the king

Honestly Bing is even better for Blackhat stuff from my experience. Ranks much better ;)

Finally someone else who gets it. My returns from Google have been massive. Can’t say the same about Bing. But happy to see less competition on Google and more money for me

I have a feeling that most smaller search engines just scrape what is ranking for the keywords on google and show similar search results on their search engine

Some are doing it openly :) Dogpile for example.

although hands down Pantene SHE search engine is by far the best

If you like Bing you may like Ecosia too. The backend is powered by Bing but they use profits to plants trees and counter de-forestation. The more you browse, the more trees they plant.

ye ive had much better experience with bing compared to google and including ddgo, very poor seartch results with ddgo and overall in general better results with bing

Another vote for Bing, both as a user and for IM. The problem with Google is it makes every aspect of SEO needlessly harder, and keeps changing its algo (basically, to frustrate marketers into eventually just turning to PPC). Bing/Yahoo is more SEO friendly and stable in the results, allowing you to more easily "set it and forget it" once you complete basic work on a site. Duck is better to get the truth, or at least informed alternative perspectives without the background tracking.

Just submit your website to google webmaster and start optimize your site under google guideline.

Bing accounts for 10% of my visits, which isn't too shabby. My audience are at the older end of the internet spectrum, which might be why.
Yahoo - 5%
DuckDuckGo - 4%
AOL Search - 0.22%

A problem I have [probably mental!] is I do not know how to SEO for Bing; but if you say Blackhat methods work, I am keen to go their route. Any advice? Thanks!
