As the titles says was billed 10 months after cancelling the service.
What can i do about that?

Close to a year ago i've used the virtual office service. I found one company, the guy on the phone(let's call him Mark) was very loyal, willing to help, i explained that won't have lots of letters, in fact only 2 letters i need - for google places and yahoo. To open account it's $40 charge and than $40 more for the month. He said that for me he will make the opening free, and make it $80 for 2 months total.
So i got the letters for google and yahoo, checked that i wasn't billed anymore, and simply forgot about the service i've used.
Today i saw the charge for 10 months $400.
After analizying i found one more charge that i've missed.

    Basically when i opened account i was charge $40 + $40 for 2 months.
Than in 3 months one more charge of $40(i've missed it, blame on me)
And than now 10 months from the opening $400.

See seemed nice guy willing to help, i will call him today and ask about the charge, but if he is indeed a smart sneaky a$$,
what can i do about that?
p.s. biggest problem that this all talk about the duration of the service was over the phone,
deff don't care about him, just want my money back and move one.

If it's on a credit card you can file a charge back on it. Debit cards don't have the same sort of protection.

Mail them & clear your stand with them. Its very strange when there is a monthly charge associated with it how come they are sending it after 10 months & not monthly ? And also claim charge back with cc.

As a holder of a merchant facility myself, I can tell you the merchant would certainly appreciate if you contacted them directly first, and tried to sort it out.

If they turn out to be unreasonable tools, certainly, file a chargeback. But first, call them and ask if they made a mistake :)

Attempt to contact the seller - it may be an automated system error/mistake if not then...

Chargeback - Unauthorised Payment for a previously cancelled service agreement.

Note: Chargebacks should only be used in events like this not when a buyer has changed their mind or wants a refund out of the ToS/ToA.

Definitely call them first. It sounds like a simple mistake and if they are a legit company they will simply refund you.

Chargebacks should always be the last resort as they are damaging to a potentially decent vendor and cost them money yet so many seem to advise to file a chargeback before all other avenues have been attempted.

IF they refuse a refund and it is definitely a case where you did cancel the subscription then you can go the chargeback route.

Contact your lawyer, over $400? I think that, sir, is the definition of a self-defeating exercise.
