Biggest scams here ?

Scams are one of the parts of what we do on the internet and, sometimes people scam others because they simply want to, sometimes, good people do some stupid things and can't get out of that, which unfortunately ends in a bad way.

To be honest, BHW is huge, and for these 6 years (not all active of course) I didn't see that much going on.
Of course, even when someone steals $1 from others it's putting a bad picture about BHW out there, but if you think about how huge all this really is, we are not having that many scams around, I might be wrong because I don't know what's going on behind the scene, but, I believe we as a community are actually doing good.

Also, nobody ever said how much money was refunded because of the moderators and everyone else.

If we look at, how much money was stolen and how much was actually refunded after some time, I believe we at 50/50 or, at least close to that.

I might be wrong, this is just my $0.2

i have met wierd scammers
once i bought a bitcointalk account from a member here, first trade fine and everything alright
and then next one he scams me and mods find out he got his bhw account by hacking.

I was expecting something funny like a CEO Sam level scam - but this is just pure wack - this is so sad

I remember a banner on BHW with a female photo that advertised selling links. They gave links to everyone who ordered their service but never the women which they put on the banner. That was just an outright scam.

This isn't really from BHW directly, but early 2000's in make money circles - there were all these GPT sites that asked people to do daily tasks like clicking ads in order to make a fraction of a cent, and then refer people to build up the downline and make even more.

These companies would also sell premium monthly memberships that would give you a few more cents for your tasks and also give you more for members you refer & then a few non-referred users into your downline each month. People were paying $500/month+ to get referrals from these services thinking it would make them tons of money.

These GPT companies would pay a few of the most vocal people who promoted their services, but otherwise not pay and find reasons to suspend people's account - they got tons of people joining and probably made millions off it, especially in Asia.

Also epassporte - but that's a legendary story for another day,...
