$5k , u could have taken a flight to china, done a full recky on replica clothing, and sold replicas in bulk to bhw. and made a fortune.
even adding $1 onto each item u sold would have made u around $5k by now.

selling 20 items a week, at $1 profit over 7 yrs lol.

get out of IM, find something which someone wants ( A ) and willing to pay what ever price, then source it for less ( B ) then that someone wants to pay for it so ... ( A ) - ( B ) = ( C ) profit.

IMO, you're now so close to success you just can't see it. You have hands-on experience on what works and what doesn't. Now just start from scratch with the knowledge you've got. Outline a plan of action and stick to it.

Sure, it will take longer this time, but since you now can tell where the mid point is, it's just a matter of patience and perseverance; no need to keep throwing so much money at it this time around.

What have you been doing for seven years? If you are the kind of person that aimlessly jumps from one thing to another, then there is your big problem. Or if you are the kind of person who keeps going at something that has no chance and cannot see it, there is your problem.

But your main problem is the fact that you are a whinger who wants people to feel sorry for them. If you sit there feeling badly done to, you will get nowhere in life.

I know this for a fact, because for several years everything that could go wrong for me did go wrong and I turned into a whinger. Due to this it was impossible to make money, but I did not stop whinging because I made money. I started making money because I stopped whinging.
